Since our founding in the 1970s, the Dallas Prairie View A&M University Alumni Chapter has proudly served as a vibrant community of Panthers committed to preserving the legacy and advancing the mission of Prairie View A&M University. Guided by our commitment to Promote, Support, Provide Service, and Award Scholarships, we continue to empower students, strengthen alumni connections, support our beloved University, and serve the greater Dallas community.
Throughout the decades, our Chapter has created traditions that celebrate fellowship, service, scholarship, and Panther pride.
The Annual Chapter Picnic
A beloved tradition that brings alumni, students, families, and friends together for fellowship, community engagement, and a celebration of the enduring spirit of Prairie View A&M University.
The Annual Scholarship Gala
Now celebrating its 29th year, our Scholarship Gala has become one of the Chapter’s most distinguished traditions and signature fundraisers. Through the generosity of alumni, friends, corporate partners, and supporters, the Chapter has raised more than $1 million to provide scholarships for deserving students and support important University initiatives, including the development of Prairie View A&M University’s sports complex.
The Annual Christmas Party
This cherished holiday tradition honors the memory and legacy of esteemed past president Clever Dean Lewis. Through the scholarship fund established in his name, more than $250,000 in scholarships has been awarded to outstanding Dallas-area students beginning their academic journey at Prairie View A&M University.
A Legacy of Giving
The Dallas Alumni Chapter continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to the future of Prairie View A&M University through significant financial support. In 2026, the Chapter proudly presented more than $90,000 to the University during a Prairie View A&M University basketball game—another powerful reflection of our commitment to student success, University advancement, and future generations of Panthers.
For decades, the Dallas Prairie View A&M University Alumni Chapter has remained steadfast in its commitment to scholarship, leadership, service, and excellence. Through scholarships, mentorship, financial support, fellowship, and community engagement, we continue to honor those who came before us while creating opportunities for those who will follow.
Our history is more than a collection of accomplishments—it is a legacy of Panthers investing in Panthers. Together, our alumni, friends, and supporters continue to build upon that legacy, ensuring that the impact of Prairie View A&M University reaches far beyond “The Hill” and continues for generations to come.
